Life After Next was a great help to me in both my pre-release parole planning and my re-entry. Providing me the critical support and resources necessary to transition back into society. They have also kept in contact with me and been supportive as far as offering advice and a sympathetic ear in my struggles to adjust to the different challenges I have faced in my re-entry. I am grateful for the program and hope to see it grow.

Life After Next has provided me with a sense of community and support in my process in my transition in society after spending 15 years in prison. They have provided me a place of friendship and able to relate to that I wasn’t a part of for so long.

Man, Life After Next was all they said they would be. They picked me up, took me out on the town and fed me. I was able to see San Francisco from a different place. We went to different parts I would have never gone. I had never traveled more than a few blocks from 111 Taylor. Now I’m on the move from the confidence Life After Next gave me. Also, they addressed my anxiety without making me feel ashamed about it. That really was what’s happening.

I am a national and California certified counselor. The service that LAN provides are essential to a successful transition for formerly incarcerated individuals. I was fortunate to have family support and transportation after my incarceration, however, LAN was there to provide additional support, guidance and mentorship through the challenges with starting a life free from incarceration. LAN provided a safe and confidential place to process, and they advocate for issues that are relevant to the issues that are relevant to the issues individuals are dealing with after incarceration.
